The Liberia YMCA on Sunday August 10, 2025 celebrated 144 years, marking over a century of empowering young people and communities through service, leadership, and development. On Monday August 11, 2025, a program was held at the National Headquarters of the Liberia YMCA.
During the program at the YMCA Headquarters, the National Chairperson of the YMCA 2025 Membership, Campaign Cllr. Medina Wesseh called on the young people of the YMCA Children Vacation Basketball Program to inform their parents, and others around them about the YMCA Membership Campaign, and return with five names to obtain membership with the YMCA.
“We want to recruit 50,000 youth/young people during this membership campaign. Under the theme “365 Y Every Day: A Better You. YMCA has plans to insure that every county in Liberia is reached with YMCA programs.” Cllr Medina Wesseh said.
For 144 years, the YMCA has been committed to its mission of Empowering Young People for the Africa Renaissance, and strengthening communities through programs that address education, healthy living, employment, and good governance.
